As part of the original GOWRS project, GOWRS members developed Key principles for the care, protection and rehabilitation of wildlife, which was published by Ipieca-IOGP in 2017. This is one of a number of good guidance documents produced by Ipieac-IOGP including one on wildlife response. Other guidelines covering related subjects, will also be made available on this site.
- Tiered preparedness and response | Ipieca – this was the first document to explicitly state the importance of wildlife response as part of the overall spill response, by including wildlife response in the Tiered Preparedness and Response wheel.
- Wildlife response preparedness | Ipieca – this document outlines the importance of good planning and preparation for mitigating the impacts of oil on wildlife and developing an effective wildlife response.
- Key principles for the care, protection and rehabilitation of wildlife | Ipieca – these key principles were the first output from he GOWRS project that started in 2015. These key principles outline the basics required to provide good care for impacted wildlife.
